Best Peruvian Dishes to Order for Pickup

Some plates are happy in a box. Others want a table. This is how we sort the menu when the meal is leaving the building.

Plates that travel

Pollo a la brasa is the safest box on the menu. The rotisserie chicken stays juicy after a ride, and you can keep the sauces off it until you are home. The quarter-bird plate, sides included, is $12.99 before tax. A half with its two sides is $16.99. The bird alone is $19.99. The $31.99 line adds that whole bird to two large sides. The pollo a la brasa page is the long version of the bird.

Lomo saltado travels because the fries, the rice and the wok beef are already one plate. It is $21.99 before tax. Lomo saltado is the page to read if you want the stir-fry and not a stew. Ají de gallina, shredded chicken in yellow chili and walnut sauce over rice, is $16.99 and was built as a saucy plate, so a closed container suits it. See ají de gallina.

Arroz chaufa is fried rice, which is almost designed for a lid. Chicken chaufa is $16.99, beef is $17.99 and the mixed plate is $18.99, all before tax. The arroz chaufa page covers the chifa rice. Tallarín saltado is the noodle cousin: chicken is $18.99 and beef is $20.99. Tallarín saltado explains the soy noodles. Tallarín verde, basil-spinach pasta with chicken or with steak, is $20.99 either way, on tallarín verde.

Plates to eat here

Ceviche is lime-cured fish. Give it time in a car and the onion softens, the juice pools, and the texture you came for is gone. Fish ceviche is $17.99 before tax, with sweet potato and choclo. Eat it in the dining room. The ceviche page is written for that plate, not for a later box.

Fried seafood is the other plate to eat here. Jalea, the crisp mix of fish, calamari and shrimp over yuca, is $22.99 before tax, and it is best while it is still crisp. A closed box steams it soft. If you still take jalea home, eat it first, not after the rice. Chicharrón de pescado, the fried fish bites, is $19.99 and belongs in the same “eat it now” group.

Ask for sauces on the side

Ají verde, ají rocoto and huancaína are sold by the cup: $0.99, $0.99 and $1.49 before tax. On a pickup, ask for them beside the food instead of on it. A child can skip the rocoto, and the fried things stay crisp a little longer. The sauce guide says what each cup actually is, using the menu’s own words.

How pickup ordering works

Orders go through our own page, not through a delivery app. You pay when you place the order. Choose ASAP or a later slot. ASAP usually needs about 20 minutes of prep. The number you see is the menu number, before tax. The last online order is taken 15 minutes before closing. A 4% card fee applies. The daily specials stay in the dining room, except the Mon/Wed/Thu whole-chicken deal, which is on that page too at lunch (11:30 AM–3 PM). Parking at the restaurant does not carry a fee.

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday the room runs a lunch service and a dinner service, with a gap in the afternoon. Friday and Saturday are the long day. Sunday is the shorter day. Tuesday: closed, so there is nothing to pick up. If the group is large enough that you are counting whole birds, use the pollo portions guide before you guess.

Pickup questions

Which dishes should I take home?
Rotisserie chicken, lomo saltado, arroz chaufa, ají de gallina and tallarín saltado. Keep ceviche and fried seafood for a table here.
Can I choose a pickup time?
Yes. The ordering page takes ASAP or a slot you name, and you pay before you arrive. Open the ordering page
Do online prices differ?
No. The figure on that page is the menu figure, before tax.
What is missing from the online menu?
Only the daily specials. Those stay in the dining room; the Mon/Wed/Thu whole-chicken deal is online too, at lunch (11:30 AM–3 PM).
