Serving Humble
A Sunday family lunch built around a Peruvian shrimp chowder and a criollo chicken stew, in a dining room that is open that afternoon.
Humble families follow FM 1960 west, I-45 north, then FM 2920 west, about 28 minutes without traffic. Park without a fee and walk in for the bowls.
A Humble Sunday is a good day for a family lunch here. The dining room is open 11:30 AM–7:00 PM that day, so a family can sit down for lunch and still be out before evening. The bowl to build it around is chupe de camarones, a shrimp chowder with potato, corn, cream and queso fresco. Ají de gallina is the stew if someone wants rice and sauce instead of a bowl.
Chupe de camarones is $19.99 before tax. Ají de gallina is $16.99 before tax. They are plates to sit down with, so they make more sense at a table than forgotten in a back seat. If you do take them home, tell the ordering page a Sunday slot while the dining room is still inside 11:30 AM–7:00 PM. Tuesday is closed. The other weekdays split lunch and dinner, and Friday and Saturday run later, through 9:00 PM.
A coastal shrimp chowder and a creamy chicken stew. Order the chupe to eat here if you can. Prices are before tax.
